ABOUT

This site was created in an effort to revisit my passion for electromagnetic accelerators, aircraft, and electronics. After seeing the development of hobbyists who have created amazing coil guns and documented their design and construction very well (specifically Delta-V Engineering) it inspired me to continue my hobby and to document my progress in the same precise and interesting way. Hopefully this website inspires you in the same way and if you are young, inspires you to pursue your interest in science and engineering.

If you find any broken links, errors, or feel the site can improve in any way please contact me at rkw@fex.systems

Before you explore this site I ask that you take the time to understand the following important information below:

DISCLAIMER:

Most of the projects on this site involve dangers such as high voltage or fast moving projectiles. If you decide to pursue the replication of any of these projects you do so at your own risk. I cannot include all the risks, however I’ve included the most dangerous warnings below. Please understand it only takes a moment to hurt yourself, others, and destroy property so please take all safety precautions and understand that,

  • HIGH VOLTAGE CAN KILL YOU
  • DIRECTLY CONNECTING ANYTHING TO MAINS VOLTAGE CAN SET YOUR HOUSE ON FIRE
  • CAPACITORS CAN HOLD A LETHAL CHARGE FOR HOURS
  • COILGUNS AND RAILGUNS CAN PROPEL PROJECTILES AND DEBRIS OUT BOTH ENDS. (Please don’t be the person who looks down the barrel)
  • EVERYTHING DEALING WITH THESE PROJECTS CAN AND, MOST LIKELY AT SOME POINT, WILL EXPLODE CAUSING SHRAPNEL TO BE TOSSED EVERYWHERE. WEAR EYE PROTECTION! (Trust me you should. An exploding transistor hurts … a lot)
  • BE LEGAL
  • HIGH VOLTAGE CAN KILL YOU
